My wife just informed me that she wants a divorce and for me to leave the house "now." I left the home Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving and everything was fine other than a minor argument we had the night before; however, when I returned home my life was turned upside down. This lady is the woman of my dreams and my second marriage. She has two adult children, the oldest of which does not like me and has spent most of the past two years refusing to talk his mother unless he needed something because of our relationship. He is 24 and his mother has struggled greatly at the lack of a once thriving relationship, he is a classic momma's boy and she liked that. Ten days ago we were awakened at 4:30 AM, he had been arrested for a DWI charge. When asked where his increased drinking problem was coming from, he said it was due to his dad having cancer during his teen years (dad is doing great) and his mom marrying me. It was three days later I was told she wants a divorce, that she hates herself and as a result cannot accept my love any longer (though she has lost no love for me.) She also tells me that she cannot loose her son over me. Bottom line is that she sees her relationship with me and her son as a choose one situation. She sees no way to continue our marriage and revive her relationship with her son while I'm her husband. Per her wishes, I'm out of the house now and totally understand her dilema...I just don't know what to do to really help her. She says because she chose to marry me in the first place over the wishes of her son that she doesn't like or trust herself right now and that I deserve much better than her. I don't want anyone but her and I love her so much that I will do anything for her including what it takes to help / let her rebuild her relationship with her son. Until last Wednesday, everything was great but now how do I save my marriage?
I'm sorry to read about your situation. I can't say that your wife's decision is due to any type of MLC but rather a crisis with her son.
